The Best 8 Days Of My Life

Image
I was right there, staring at my computer screen, it was 12th July, 2012 and I was wondering if I should hit the submit button. I could hear my mom and dad saying no to me in my head. So i shut my eyes and i just hit the SUBMIT button, & there goes my 13K. My trip to HEAVEN was fixed. I had planned a trip to Heaven - Leh. I have a friend who lives there and was working with an NGO called SLC – Snow Leopard Conservatory Trust. She had told me a zillion times to book my tickets and fly to Leh and I finally did it. I envy her big time actually, as she gets to live in this amazingly beautiful place. I packed my bags and left on 15 th September, 2012 and it was the first time I was going all alone, completely by myself so everybody was worried. However I didn’t care much about that. What I cared about was, how my next 8 days would be. I wrote everything in my small little red diary. Right from my pilot’s name that flew me to Leh to the places I visited there, the people I met

My First 10 Days in Kuala Lumpur

Image
It has been more than 10 days here now and I still haven’t settled quite well. Haven’t really got comfortable with this place. Its like the place is scaring me. I walk on the streets with my eyes and ears open. Apparently KL is a place where you could witness a lot of crime, in terms of theft and kidnapping, that’s what people say at least. You should not wear jewelry, no handbags, no carrying cell phone in hand. I mean these are the things I am not quite accustomed to, back in Mumbai.   Not that I hate the place, but the place hasn’t welcomed me well. I had an experience, right on the first day at the airport, where the girl at the counter where we had gone to book our teksi, told us it would cost us RM300 to reach our hotel, whereas my company HR told me it costs around RM80-RM100. Thank god I have an arrogant husband, who questioned that girl and then she charged us RM101.30. Here the Polis is also quite corrupt. If you don’t have your original passport, they either take y

The Big Nasty

Image
The Big Nasty is a bar at Bandra west near Carter Road. This bar is loaded with good crowd - Hot gals and sad boys, amazing music and sad food. I had been there with a few of my closest friends, including my husband. It was so amazing to see all those people dancing and swaying their head to and fro with every beat. Although half of them were drunk, so couldn’t really understand if it was conscious effort that they were putting in or they had just let themselves cut loose. Besides the dancing, I was trying to observe everyone at the bar. Each girl was dressed up to kill and looked beautiful and every boy wanted to woo a hot chiq   I had worn quite sad clothes myself actually. Had left from office and reached the bar directly. There were a few foreigners as well at that place. The ambiance was good, quite like the ones shown in movies, especially cartoon movies - Dim Lights, round tables, bar counter, etc. We were there for around 2 – 3 hours, wherein because we didn’t hav
